<p>Does anyone know if being an RA effects the scholarships awarded as part of the financial aid package by NYU? I have encouraged D to try for an RA spot next year because it covers room and board and would significantly reduce or eliminate our need for loans. Her aid package does include scholarships in addition to the loans, and I am wondering if they will consider this a reduction in her cost of attendance and reduce the scholarships accordingly. If so, there's no real advantage to doing it. FYI our EFC is really low so even with the room and board covered, plus her current scholarships, it won't exceed or come close to the cost of attendance. Since this is probably just a one year deal, I don't want those scholarships taken out of her package and possibly not resumed for fourth year.</p>
