Question about Research Paper

I saw on the Caltech application that you can include any research papers that you have written. Well, I had done some research this past summer at a university and had created a pretty detailed powerpoint and presented it at the end to some staff. It basically contained everything that a paper would include, such as an overview, purpose, procedure, results, graphs, applications, implications, etc. Would the admissions committee accept a powerpoint (converted to pdf of course) as a substitute for an actual paper as a supplemental material?

Call admissions and ask. They don't bite. Though if you want me to guess, I'd say go ahead and submit it. If they aren't interested they'll simply ignore it.

What you have isn't a traditional research paper per se, but go ahead and submit it. Like ^ said, it can only help - not hurt.

... and actually the PowerPoint format is pretty friendly for a quick read to see what you did, as opposed to a full formal research paper which would take a lot more effort to go through. I would say definitely send it.
