Question about sending SAT score reports

Hi,

I’m a current HS junior. I took the SAT with Essay in March, and the Math IIC yesterday. I have a couple of questions on how the score report process works.

For the first SAT test, I chose 4 colleges to send my free score reports to. For the Math IIC, I got another 4 free reports. I noticed that when I go to the My SAT page and click “Send Scores When Available” for my June 3 SAT, there is a “Test Scores to Send” column in the chart. Selecting a university and then clicking “Choose Scores” will take you to a page where it lets you control what test scores are sent, and it includes my March SAT scores and June SAT scores.

I’m confused because I had thought when you send a score report, only the test for that score report (e.g. the June SAT) would be sent. However, this seems to show that all of your scores on previous SATs would be included, as well. What’s the point of sending any score reports before you take your final SAT, then?

No. When you submit a new score report order, all previous SAT1 and 2 scores would be included unless you excerise score choice.

@billcsho Is there any point in sending your scores before you take your final SAT test then?

Yes, in some cases. Sending score early may be considered expressing interest. Also, it may make youe EA/ED application complete while pending for later score.
