Question about the Australian National University

This isn't really a study abroad question, more just about the Australian National University.

I was wondering, what programs does it have a reputation for? Like... Stanford is famous for its psych program, Harvard for its law program... What is ANU "famous" for?

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I’ve heard Actuarial studies too. It’s in Canberra though, not much to do there.

ANU’s famous for a few things. It’s really well regarded for research in general - especially that pertaining to arts and politics. The asian studies department is apparently outstanding, and the political science is pretty good too. I’ve heard that commerce is very strong too…

In terms of undergraduate degrees, ANU has a few which stand out on an international scale. Students performing in the top 1% and with a range of achievements in their disciplines can apply for the PhB degree (bachelor of philosophy) in either science or arts - there’s a huge degree of flexibility in what they can study and they have to take research as an undergraduate. The bachelor of computational science is also quite prestigious.
