Question About UC Essay Prompt

<p>For the personal statement, is it acceptable to discuss both my community and school? They’re closely related and I feel my essay would be incomplete if I omit one. (I understand the prompt says “or”, which probably means to only pick one). Thank you!</p>

<p>Here’s the prompt if you don’t recall it: Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.</p>

<p>Well, for that prompt I ended up writing about aspects of all three of the examples listed, and I got into UCD and UCSD. Just make sure the examples tie into each other. It sounds like that’s the case from your description, so I don’t see any issue with talking about both your community and your school.</p>
