I'm a prospective Fall 2011 Transfer and applied for a major in the communication department. When I was checking the communication schools website I saw that they had their own application website and form. Does this mean that even if I'm accepted into UCF I'll have to apply separately for the communication school?

If I understand your question correctly, I think certain majors in the Communication department are limited access, which means you must apply to get in. I think off the top of my head, that Advertising/Public Relations, Radio/Television, and Journalism require applications.

For example, I’m a freshman at UCF and I’m Advertising/Public Relations Pending. I submitted my application 2 weeks ago and I’m awaiting a response. Application for this is required because this is a popular major and it is limited. They base it off of your GPA, so if you have lower than a 3.5 GPA, you most likely won’t get in. After you are accepted, you can then take Ad/PR courses and you are no longer pending. Also before you apply, you may have to fulfill certain requirements, for example for Ad/PR, you have to have a certain amount of credit hours done, and you must have taken or be in the process of taking the Advertising intro class and the PR intro class.
