<p>I sent my Jan. Sat scores through collegeboard, but my parents say that I must send the colleges some kind of update letters about the new scores. Is that necessary? If so, can I just send it to email address of each college's admissions office?</p>

<p>My son's (very experienced) GC advised against including new scores/grades in an update letter, since the colleges will be getting them anyway (But do make sure they get them!. GC said update letters are recommended for deferrals and waitlists, and should only include significant prizes and accomplishments not mentioned elsewhere. Probably good advice. We, too, are struggling with such a letter, trying to strike the right tone. Good Luck!</p>
