I was accepted early, and I'm really interested in majoring in film @ Cornell. I've heard that Cornell's film program has the reputation of being very good, and I was wondering if anyone currently @ cornell could shed some light as to the nature of the program. Is it all it's said to be? What kind of classes would I be taking. Are there good oppurtunities for internships and what not?

I don't know much about it, but here's the dept. website: http://www.arts.cornell.edu/film/

Well, I'd never take an actual film class, but my writing seminar is on film. The class is THETR 115, in the Theatre, Film, and Dance Depeartment. The Schwartz center, where the program is located, is somewhat far from north campus but is an excellent facility. My seminar is great, we watch kung fu films and write about them, analyzing this such as mise-en-scene, cinematography, soundtrack, editing, social and political significance, etc. The professor has a PhD in Film, and she's wonderful. I can't speak for other classes, but from what I've seen it looks like an excellent major if that's where your interest lies.

ya I was interested in the film major too but I'm more interested in the screenwriting aspect of film so I dont know what I should do.
