I'm an admitted student deciding between Wharton and another top school (H, Y, or P). I'm pretty sure about a career in finance so I don't want to make this a Wharton vs. other school thread, I just wanted to know if you've enjoyed your time there, you have enough time to have fun and pursue other activities while maintaining a decent gpa, and you would would make the same decision if you had to choose again. I only have 5 days to decide so any perspective from a current student would be great.

finance = wharton

sign that acceptance card and get over here.

If you’re sure about finance, go to wharton. The best of both worlds bar none. You won’t regret it.

If you’re sure about a career in finance, there is no question Wharton is the place to be.

I chose Wharton over Y and P (didn’t get into H), and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I’d choose Wharton again. It’s easy to have a good gpa and still have a blast every weekend.

(for those of you who are going to attack me for posting that - yes, I actually did mean EASY)

I don’t necessarily agree with the above. I’m not very happy in Wharton because I wish I could have had a more literary and humanistic education.

In the end, you’re going to get a great job regardless of whether you go to Penn, Harvard, or Princeton (I don’t think Yale is as strong a feeder into finance), so pick based on the school you want to go to. Penn is soooo different from H/P.

^^ shouldn’t have come here if you wanted more liberal arts. If the OP is set on business/finance, there is no place on Earth like Wharton.

Thanks for the responses. It’s good to hear it’s still fun… I’m more the quantitative type and have no interest in management, but I might try and minor in math or concentrate in statistics. Is it still easy to take a few computer science/math courses and not be overwhelmed? I think I’m pretty much done with the math they actually require…

i am comp sci major plus wharton with math minor. its doable :)

@quakergoast: You can easily get a liberal arts education in addition to the business education. It’s just a matter of how much you’re willing to put in. Most people simply aren’t intellectual enough to WANT to take that many extra courses.

Do you consider wharton for real estate concentrations?

^ well Ivanka Trump did.

wharton’s the best school for finance, real estate and marketing. It’s just that you’ll be able to get more out of connections in finance than real estate and both of those over marketing.
