Question for people trying to be lawyers and who been through the process

May I copy this question about doctors and ask the same thing about lawyers?

Do you just like arguing, you wanna "protect innocent people," are you just really good at speaking and lying, or you want the security $$$$$? Are you thinking about going into something else later?

Well, I want to be a lawyer because I like their style of dressing. Anyone else doing it for the same reason?

fine with me... I'm still curious of lawyer as well.

Man, all three of those qualities all apply to my brother that's in law school right now.

lol...I want to be a criminal prosecutor, what do you have to do to get into that department? (aside from law school obviously)

I'd say try to get a job in the local District Attorney's office during your summers off. My brother spent last summer working for one of the ADAs in an office that deals with a lot of Eastern European neighborhoods (he's fluent in Russian, so they put him there), and he loved it.

Phoenix Wright, anyone?

objection!

Overruled!

Wait, what are you objecting to? :D

Me, I want to be a tax/bankruptcy lawyer. Not as sexy as M&A but demand looks steady and the work is interesting enough. Helping corporations avoid taxes everywhere :D Yes, I'm doing it for the $$$$.

Thanks, how competitive are the job prospects after law school? (How likely will I make it in the field if I get through law school with good grades, etc)
