Question for those who took all 3 levels of Calculus

@ Hopefultransfer4: Same here, I wonder why so many hate Calc II so much.

Probably because it’s hard if you don’t know your trig or algebra…?

Calculus II seems to be the most weed-out class for STEM majors in my school, last I heard last semester it had a 50% fail rate…

It depends on what school you go to. Different schools make the different levels of Calculus harder or easier. Also, different professors will have the same effect.

I was actually surprised when I was watching a youtube Cal-Berkeley lecture for Multivariate Calc that they allowed a formula/cheat sheet and calculators. I had no such advantage during my Calculus sequence.

Kaleid, the Florida university system makes the Calc sequence very difficult. Calc I and II at my school (UCF) were difficult, with a high fail/drop rate. There’s so many kids in the Florida university system that the math department wants to weed them out. I guess that’s why there is so many kids in the business college.

You can get a good grade in Calc 2 and still not like it or think it was the hardest.

Yeah, if ur in engineering and you fail Calc 2, try business. I’ve seen it happen a few times already.
