Question for TSocash -- how does ACT Superscore work?

Hi -- would you mind explaining how ACT superscoring at Rochester works? Do the adcoms reviewing the files see all the sections of the ACT for each test date, plus a recalculated composite? Or do the adcoms just see the highest score from each section across all test dates, as well as the recalculated composite. Thanks so much.

When I review an application, the score that I see on the main page of your file is the recalculated composite. This composite “superscore”, or the combination of the highest scores from each section of the ACT / SAT, is the score that we use to evaluate you. We understand that every student can have a bad test day, which is why we only look at the superscore.

However, if an Admissions Counselor wanted to see the results from every ACT / SAT that you have ever taken, we can do a little bit of detective work to find those results. Once again, we only use the composite superscore when reviewing your application.

Thanks so much for your quick response!
