I am not married, but I live with my boyfriend. When I apply for finacial aid, do I have to include his income? And if the answer is yes, does that mean I can also count his dependent(he has a daughter)? Thanks for the help.

alright, just in case i'm wrong, i would contact the finaid officers at the schools your child is applying to. i'm positive that on the FAFSA you only have to report your income, not your boyfriend or your ex(if you are indeed divorced). on the CSS Profile i dont remember it asking specifically for my mothers bfs income but there is a comments section where you can provide additional info about your household. i listed my moms bf in that section. i think each school can contact you if they want his income and what not...but i dont think it asks for it. not sure about listing his dependants though. i'd say call the finaid offices for the best answer.

thanks, I will do that.

no cant add as dependants .. a per norms as u are not liable(formally ) to pay for the child. But this being a special case.i suggest calling the finaid officers at various school abtytheir own comments and views

Corrinas54....if you are under 24 you don't have to report your boyfriend's income but you DO have to report your parents. The FAFSA doesn't care if you live with your family or not...they are still your parents and bear some responsibility for college payment for you.
