<p>Hi, I have been studied in China and will be finished high school here. However, recently I got my green card and my status could be changed into U.S. citizenship. As for admission,will I be considered as an international student or a domestic student? In which case can I increase my chance of being admitted? If I apply as a domestic student, will I be disadvantaged since I have never studied in U.S？ And I do not need Financial Aid.

<p>if you have green card, you apply as a domestic student. The only disadvantage you might have is that if you are not officially a resident of any particular state because you have been residing outside the US, you will not have a particular state public university you can apply to and pay in-state tuition rates.</p>
<p>There are lots of students like you, so don’t worry about this. The colleges and universities will know what to do with your Chinese school records. When you apply, ask each of the places that you apply to what they want you to do. <p>Your green card does not increase/decrease your chances in the domestic pool. However, it rescues you from the incredibly competitive international pool – which is good.</p>

<p>If you’ve not informed them of your green card, I advise you to do so IMMEDIATELY. You cannot imagine the competitiveness of the international pool. By declaring your Green card, you boost your chances immensely.</p>
