Question on HPS: Intro to History of Science

I will be taking the HPS humanities course mentioned in the title this fall at Caltech. If you have taken this course, tell me what it is like. It isn't my top choice, and I'm debating whether to switch out or not.

who’s teaching it? (that is sometimes more important than the content of the course)

a lot of people i know didn’t like this class, but it probably depends on the professor

It really depends on the prof. I took it under feingold, so I guess I can answer questions re: that

Registrar’s site says it’s Feingold. Don’t know anything about the class, though. :)

It’s taught by Feingold.

@Lizzardfire: Is this class worth taking even if you aren’t planning to major in HPS?

I’m considering to switch out, but the registrar is not replying to my e-mails. I guess I’ll have to call them directly.

If you want to change classes, you’ll need to do it with a add/drop card once you get here- calling the registrar won’t do anything.

I remember hearing positive things about Feingold, so it might be worth it to stay in it.

Well, you’ve gotta take 12 terms of humanities, and obviously you’re not going to be majoring in most of them.

As for whether the class is worth it or not, I thought it was decent but not amazing. The class lecture / discussion was boring some of the time but I really enjoyed writing my paper / doing my own research.

What it is like? it’s pass/fail :)

^haha. You do not have to state the obvious.
