Question on strange situation

I have a question regarding whether or not the school I've applied for (University of Maryland, College Park) will review my HS/SAT records.

Well when I applied back in January I submitted my HS/SAT records as I did not acquire the necessary 30 credits needed. I had 17 credits (though 3 were from a developmental math class.... yea I know, I'm dumb =P): 3 As, 2 Bs, and a P (the math) which came out to a 3.5 GPA.

When I got my letter back, the admissions panel said it had postpone a decision until I completed my spring courses, which where Economics, English, Statistics, Philosophy, and Political Science, as they wanted to "assess my academic strength and abilities."

So I got As in Philosophy, Political Science, and History and Bs in Economics, English and statistics, which came out to another 3.5 GPA.

Anyways, I am wondering whether or not maryland will look at my hs records (again...) since I was postpone until after I completed my spring courses and thus accumulated 35 credits.

Thanks in advance!

shameless bump…

If UMD does it will factor in very little I had a similar GPA with a god awful HS GPA and was accepted to UMD (although I choose another school).

Thank you very much for the reply!

I got accepted, but I am not going also, with an overall 3.9 GPA and 64 credits so it sounds like you are in the ballpark. You did very well with the 3.5 and that is going to be the deciding factor, I think. They already looked at the HS stuff, they are waiting for this last semester and you did really well. Good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Another shameless bump!

It seems you are ok, I am by no mean an expert at all, I haven’t been in this situation- but have you tried calling them?

Just wanted to report back and say to all those who helped me that I got my acceptance letter this afternoon ^_^

Thank to all those who offered help.

CONGRATS!!! SO glad to hear that news!!! Enjoy your time in Maryland!!!
