<p>I don't remember doing anything like that. However, I do remember writing that Dr. Massey proposed three explanations for the high percentage of black immigrants at our nation's elite universities, the first of which was "Admissions officers purposefully choose black immigrants over native-born blacks."</p>
<p>Instead of quoting verbatim from the article, I rewrote it while keeping its meaning. For reference, the article stated "The first [explanation] is that admissions officers explicitly choose immigrant blacks over native blacks."</p>
<p>I indeed chose my words carefully. You just didn't read the article and my post carefully enough.</p>
<p>The author never mentioned modern racism. That was my comment, which is why I placed it in parantheses. Perceiving black immigrants are more "likable" than native-born blacks is modern racism directed toward native-born blacks.</p>
