Question Regarding 2013 UNC Application

Hello,

I am in the process of sending in my application for UNC-Fall 2013. In the Common Application, where you are to add additional information that you want the admissions office to know; do you think it is a good idea to write a brief statement about how my SAT scores do not reflect my work academically? My GPA, and extracurriculars don't line up with my scores...I know it is not much of an excuse but I struggle with test anxiety and I panic really bad when it comes time for tests, especially big ones like the SAT/ACT. BUT I am working on fixing it so it will not become a problem when I am in college. So back to question, is a good idea stating that your scores don't reflect your academic accomplishments, and work ethic?

Thanks!

No. Just email them. Make sure it sounds honest and mature.

It’s not a bad idea. That’s the point of that section. However, SAT is not nearly as important as GPA. If your GPA was low and test scores were high, that’s when it would be a bigger problem.
