Hi, I applied to the M&T Program this year as a high school senior (Wharton 2nd choice), but was rejected. This was not a surprise considering my initial indifference towards my US applications (which probably showed in my essays). However, I am now confident in my desire to go to Wharton and would like to set myself up for the best possibility of a successful transfer after my freshman year.

I am from Canada and will be attending either The University of Western Ontario in the Engineering Faculty (I have AEO status for the Ivey School of Business), Queen's Commerce, or McGill BComm.

If possible, I wish to pursue a dual degree in Engineering and Business at UPenn (First choice major is Business), however, I am not sure whether one can externally transfer into a dual degree program (whether that be the M&T program or a regular dual-degree). This is one of the questions I pose to you. Is it possible to transfer directly into the dual degree program, or would I have to complete a year at UPenn before applying, or is it not possible at all.

Regarding my current university situation, I am leaning towards Western Ontario as it gives me the opportunity to receive a degree in both Engineering and Business which is of great interest to me. However, this would mean I would take predominately Engineering courses in my first year due to the structure of the program (2 years Engineering + 2 years Ivey). If I am only able to apply to Wharton (as opposed to the dual degree program) would this hurt my application, or even make me ineligible for transferring due to the lack of business related courses? I do have 5 AP courses that I can use as college credits (Micro, APHG, Calc BC, Physics B, Chem) if that is of any use.

Lastly, would any of the aforementioned programs that I have been accepted to this year offer a substantially better chance regarding my transfer?

Thank you so much for your help!
