question regarding the princeton summer essay

So, my past two summers have been spent 1. interning at a lab, and 2. going to a summer college session. The problem is, my commonapp is an essay about my internship in the lab, where I explain my excitement very in depth. So for this summer essay, how much does Princeton expect me to bring up my internship again?

Should I quickly write a sentence or two on the internship from my commonapp (without addressing in the essay that they can read about my internship from my commonapp), then spend the majority of the essay on my other summer experience? Or should I talk about both experiences equally?

Or should I literally write something like, "As you've already read from my commonapp essay, I spent my summer of 2012 interning at a lab....(filler sentence)....but I'd like to talk more about my summer spent taking a college course"?

Thank you for any advice!

Your summer essay should be cohesive. If it kind of relates to your summer college session, then you can bring it up again, but don’t write “As you’ve already read…” Try not to address the admissions officers directly, unless you’re trying to be funny/unique.
