<p>i am just wondering... what do they mean exactualy by meaningful activity? would it be slightly offtopic if i do this:</p>

<p>-i say that some meaningful activities are the times i went to are things like summer math institutes, mainly mathematics.</p>

<p>-for my yale supplement essay, i'll talk more about a math institute, where i went away from Canada for 6 weeks to study in the United States?</p>

<p>would what i've said consider as meaningfucl interst of activity ? or does it have to be something like playing the accordion (which i do) or writing novels?</p>

<p>No, what you said sounds perfectly fine. Generally these topics are pretty flexible. </p>

<p>Also, since the short answer and supplemental essay don't have to be on the same topic, you could write the short answer on playing the accordion and the supplemental on math.</p>
