Question with Transferring to Tech as an undergraduate for Economics from Georgia State

Hi, this is my first time posting here.

a little bit of context: I’m currently a Senior in Georgia and will be applying to Georgia state to save money, I plan on studying economics and am searching for a bit of clarification on how I would transfer and at what point during my academics at Georgia state would I be able to? I’d very much appreciate as much information as possible in regards to this. Thank you guys very much!

If you are a senior and have the gpa/scores to get into GT now then I would think about how much you are going to save. You should have the Zell Miller scholarship. so the difference would be the following.

Fees GT is 1195 and GS is 1064 per semester so for the year $262

If you are on campus in a dorm for the year the cheapest for GT is 6010 and GS is (4532 +reservation fee 350) diff is $1128/year

cheapest meal plan meal plan for a year at GT is 4496 GS is 3796 diff is $700/year

Assuming you can get into the cheapest dorm at GT & GS the total difference for 1 year is $2090. I would apply to GT and GS and then assuming you get in …think about how you might be able to come up with that extra $2090. The reason mentioning it is that GT has a lot of co-op opportunities. You could end up with a co-op after your freshman year and that would more than make up the savings you would get from GS.

If you are set on going to GS. Do you by any chance have a sibling/parent/grandparent that went to GT? If you do and you apply to GT and you don’t get in you will be able transfer after 1 year if you take certain classes and meet the GPA required.

Hey, I do not have any siblings that went to GT. apart from that pathway into tech how would it work transferring from GS to GT?
