What is the lowest SAT score some one has ever heard of of some one that got into Pepperdine?

If you have to ask, why don't you retake it?

If you are having a problem with the SAT, try the ACT. it seems to work better for different thinkers:) good luck! And at Pepperdine, the SAT isn't everything

Go to this site, it gives all the statisitics on applicants from last year. It gives the range on SAT and ACT scores, as well as, gpa. Go to the second section on admitted students and at about the 4th page, you will find SAT info. Hope this helps!

Do you apply for a specific school on the Pepperdine application?
If so can you please rank them on "hardest to get into - not as hard" Please also tell me which schools look at the person more than the stats and what not.

Thanks

I am not sure. My D is in theater and you must audition for that dept. You can be accepted to the school but not the theater dept. Luckily she was accepted to both. Otherwise, Pepperdine, specifically Seaver which is the undergrad college, is a LAC so there are not individual schools to apply to. The exception is for business majors. I believe you have to apply as a sophomore, it is not automatic. I am not as well versed in this, so it would be best to visit the website or correspond with the admissions counselor for your area.

What were your daughter's stats if you don't mind?
As well as ECs?

Thanks

Let me preface this with she transferred to pdine her sophomore year. Her college gpa was arounf 3.5 to 3.6, her SAT was dismal 1090 (old format) or something like that. She has never been a good standardized test taker, but a good writer, so I think her essay helped. I think the fact that she had a really good audition may have helped the fact that her sat was not great. She had great community service....leadership in youth ministry at her church, as well as, active participant in campus ministry and outreach at her high school. She had lead credits in her high school productions and was on the hs vball team for 2 years. She had some top notch recommendations also. So although she had some weak areas, we felt that pdine did look at and consider all aspects and contributions she could bring to the school. It is my impression, however that they have been more selective the last couple of years.

Where did you D apply to when she was apply for college out of high school?
And where did she get in, if you dont mind again?

Thanks!

She applied to Santa Clara, CSUN SD State, Sonoma, LMU, College of Santa Fe. She was rejected rom SD State...super popular school right now and LMU, who advised her to apply the the next year...weird. SHe didn't discover Pepperdine until it was too late, fell in love, regrouped and made up her mind she was going to transfer the next year. She went to CSUN (really didn't like it) 1 semester, but came back to the cc for winter spring & summer. It allowed her to get more units. She completed her soph. year at Pepperdine, went to their Florence international program this summer and is so excited about returning in August.

I was looking to apply to Santa Clara (which she got into, correct?) and LMU. What were her stats and ECs out of high school?

Thanks for all your help JC*

Her hs gpa was about 3.3 the rest was the same as posted before It was the boost in her college gpa that helped. She was waitlisted at Santa Clara then accepted. LMU has been more dificult in recent years. I am a grad student at LMU, although a good school, I am not impressed with their administratiive depts. Pepperdine is much better run.

GOT CHA thanks for all the info... if i have anymore questions can I ask you them through this thread please?

Yes or send a PM by clicking JC* Good luck! better yet, make your own luck by studying hard!!

JC* I PMd you.

JC* does it help to apply before Nov. 15 even if you do not want nor do you need finacial aid????

Or when do you apply before DEC 1?

The absolute deadline is January 15th. The earlier deadlineNovember 15 is for scholarship consideration...probably merit scholarship, which you would not be considered for with low stats. Always apply for financial aide, however, cuz you never know! DO not delay your app. get it in before the deadline with all the documantation they require also there by the deadline. Missing the deadline will be devastating!
