Thanks BISORI & CUAmbassador11 - we did the general tour and info session last summer, which is when D fell in love with Cornell. We will plan another trip for the AAP info session. Seeing accepted students portfolios should help her to make sure she is going in the right direction with her portfolio for Cornell.

mdmomfromli- it is a great, if not amazing, idea to go see accepted students’ portfolios. just remind your daughter that everyone has different styles, and to not let her get intimidated and start to doubt her own work. as soon as i saw accepted architecture portfolios, i did get scared, but i realized that my work is just as good as those displayed. i made it my goal to “make the counter” and i worked to make it a reality. i would visit cornell again in the spring, if you have a chance, so that she can see the latest portfolios of accepted students, giving her a chance to assess her own work before the summer, especially if she needs more time.

could I ask what exactly did you draw for the portfolio? Does it has to contain architectural drawings?
