questions about harvard

I just want to point out that if it’s a Skyrim fanfiction then I don’t think you can legally publish it anyway. Copyright and all that. (At least if you try and sell it. I’m not sure if that still applies if it’s going to be free. I’ve seen novels based on shows and games for sale before but they probably got permission.) Plus, changing the names to try and pass it off as your own would be plagiarism.

Please correct me if I’m wrong!

^^ Actually, self-publishing these days is quite easy – which is why it doesn’t impress admissions officers, who’s job it is to understand the hoops kids will go through to get noticed by HYPS: https://kdp.amazon.com

@SweedDz . Just look at the avg GPA, Test scores and EC&awards of students accepted, most of them are good at everything and well-rounded! :wink:

It is “YOU” who need to make yourself stand out and above the other some 37k well-rounded applicants! Publishing a Self-sponsored book might not be a good idea and IMHO you are trying way too much! My suggestion to you…spend your time wisely on your essays. If your essays are as good as you claimed, good enough to publish, I believe you will win the vote from AO! Focus on couple meaningful ECs and you will be fine!

I wrote a non-fiction book on a dare from my oldest child. It was fun to do, easy to self-publish, got me points from my child, and I made a couple of thousand dollars on Amazon. How much should AOs be impressed by this? ZERO.

@SweedDz
