<p>he may be a bit intimidating for a first semester freshman, but i took 93D with him (and he hasn't been at duke since -- he's been on sabbatical as a special adviser on the national security council) and while a little overwhelmed (it was the first college class i went to and before i had lunch with a random kid i met who was babbling on how this guy is a legend) i LOVED him. he's a great professor, a really smart man with tons of interesting outside experience, very very well respected. he's a "heavy weight" in the polsci dept and for IR. stay up to date with readings and with current events -- this certainly isn't a joke course. that beign said, if you stay up to date with things and go to discussion section, you'll be fine.</p>
