Questions about transferring

I am currently an out of state college freshman and am thinking about transferring to Pitt. I applied last year and got in but decided to stay in state and now I am kind of regretting my decision and thinking about coming to Pitt! Does anyone know the housing situation for transfer students? I would be transferring in this fall (2010) as a sophomore, and I know that housing is not guaranteed for transfer students, but does anyone know the chances of getting on-campus housing as a sophomore transfer?

Also, can anybody tell me about rushing a sorority at Pitt? I heard that rushing is not that competitive, but do sophomores who rush have a good chance of getting a bid? Is greek life a big deal at Pitt?

Any advice/insight would be so appreciated!
Thanks so much!

For what it is worth, last year they had freshmen (guaranteed housing) living in the lounges until they could find them dorm rooms so I would think there would be very limited or no dorms available for non-guaranteed students.
