Questions about various engineering majors

Hey,

I have a few questions about CS and Comp Engineering specifically:

I really liked the electricty and circuits part of physics (even though I struggled quite a bit with electricity), but I absolutely despised magnetism with a passion. I was unsuccessful and didn’t enjoy that part at all. I was wondering how much magnetism is required for CE? I’m really interested in the CE subject matter, and know I’ll need to know some magnetism, but if I’m not good at magnetism, is it a huge deal?

Even though I may get a tech degree, my ultimate goal is to do something in business, and I will get an MBA eventually. My question is does CE have any business applications, even if I combine it with a finance degree? I know that my GPA is probably going to be lower in CE, so if I can’t get into i-banking right away because of that, can I still get into a top MBA school with a degree in CE and non ibanking or consulting internships? I guess what I’m asking is if I want to work in the tech industry for a while and then go into business, can I still get into a top MBA?

thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much; At my school all EE/CprEs have to take Electromagnetics, but it's taught from more of an engineering viewpoint than a physics viewpoint, so it's not terribly theoretical and difficult.

Quite a few of Computer Engineers choose to get their MBAs; I don't really know a whole lot about it besides what I've heard, which is that MBAs with B.S's in Electrical or Computer Engineering are extremely valuable to a company.

any more responses? Btw, besides the typical i-banking and consulting, what else can you do with an MBA, preferably in a technical, yet business-like field?

Engineering management, technical sales etc
