Questions about Wes for incoming freshmen

oh an also does anyone have blue cross blue shield? i want to waive but i’m not sure about half the stuff they ask me or what i do if i’m going to a different state (i live in MA).
i would just like to know if if blue cross blue shield covers everything gallagherkoster asks

Found this on the Wesleying site (that’s the correct spelling; it’s the most comprehensive student-run blog on campus, IMHO) [Meal Plan Advice for Incoming Frosh – Wesleying](Meal Plan Advice for Incoming Frosh | Wesleying)

hope this helps.

where would the japanese / chinese classes take place? i know that thier hub is the freeman center but that place seems pretty far away from the rest of the classes…its like…beyond even admissions office.

also, would one give up a good professor for a core class and take it with a mediocreprofessor so that another core class can fit schedule? lacs = limited sections of course offerings =(

NVM about the language thing…i found that thier located in fisk hall…is 10 minutes enough to walk from public affairs building to fisk hall then?

speaking of japanese/chinese placement exams, what’s the format of the test? is it listening, reading, and writing?

fresca - It’s conceivable that under severe blizzard conditions it could take twenty minutes to get from Albritton to Fisk. But, that’s rare. Ten minutes, without stopping to check mail or chat, should get you across campus on all but the most extreme routes (from Long Lane to Washington St, for example.)

reallly!!! i have been to wesleyan campus but i thought it took like…15 minutes to walk from fisk to the public affairs center…maybe i was walking too slow…so is it possible to walk from one side of campus to the other side in 10 minutes?

You should probably give yourself a little extra time to cross High Street (or any other busy street running through campus) – we don’t want any accidents. But, ten minutes is about average for anything that doesn’t require going from one end of campus to the other. Wesleyan’s roughly a square mile in size (or, 1.5 km), so judge accordingly.

fisk to PAC in 10 is definitely doable.

which cellphone company is best to use on campus?

i have a room in clark with no window( the rooms ending with 20 and 21…)
is this guna be a big setback?
i wont know if its day or night -.-

That sounds terrible, no offense. But I guess it won’t really matter at night and you’ll probably spend the majority of your day out anyway, so maybe it’s not that big of a deal.

Are there are winter fall spring formals dances such?

So when do we find out who our faculty advisors are and what classes we’re in? I know pre-registration is on the 24th, but by then will we know which FYI and non-FYI we got from the pre-pre-registration ranking thing we had to do back in July?

Is there any place on campus such as the market where I can use my debit card to purchase something and get cash back?

I have a question:

I got the info about two of my classes (gov with Murphy and intro to Pysch) but I was wondering about the other two? Does this mean I have to register for the other two? When? Did I not get my other choices?

And what will I find out on the 24th?

You pick your other classes when you get to school, with your advisor.

[Course Registration Calendar](http://www.wesleyan.edu/registrar/registrationcalendar.html)

Woohoo, I’m in the psych intro class too.

Ok i have a few random questions:

1) Do kitchens in any of the dorms have microwaves or does everyone simply get their own?
2) I got into an Econ class and a History class (my FYI) but I was really hoping to take one of the bio/chem classes so I can figure out of I have the aptitude for either of the subjects… will it be difficult to get into them during the drop add period since they are pre-requisites for a lot of the higher level classes
3)Does anyone have any info about what I might need to take to do the 3+2 engineering program (just an option at this point)
4)The drop/add period - is it like you simply sign up for any class that has available seats?? Or can we sit in on classes where its still full?
5)Are there any 24hr libraries at Wesleyan? ie will there be 24hr printing?? Or should I get my own printer (sometimes I can be a bit of a procrastinator)
6)To stay active during my freshman year I was thinking of taking a PE class as a 5th course…bad idea?? Is this something that students normally do??

Hope thats not too much to throw at one shot! Thank you!!

I was looking through prohibited items and it included cooking appliances. What do we use to cook then?
