Just a few questions…

Is move-in day for Warren the 18th? Do we just drop off our stuff and go live at a hotel or can we actually stay? Because somewhere I read that our housing contract doesn’t start until the 20th… and does it matter what time you get there?

When is the earliest I can change my major? I’ve had a change of heart and I want to switch to Econ.

I was under the impression that Orientation was 1 day… yet on my Warren calendar, it says that our orientation will last from Sept. 19-21… can anybody shed some light on what we’ll be doing for three days?

thanks in advance.

Warren people move in a few days early because warren has its orientation right before school starts. The 20th is when everyone else's housing starts (sixth does the same thing though). So you move in on the 18th, stay in your dorm, go to orientation, and then the majority of colleges have their move in day on the 20th.

There is no need to be in such a hurry; you can change your major anytimee once you arrive (possibly earlier, but it really doesn't matter for the vast majority of majors). The only reason it might matter is that some courses have major-only enrollment, but these classes are fairly rare and as far as i know mostly in engineering so there is no rush for econ. I changed my mind about engineering the december before my freshman year and planned on majoring in physics and i was also anxious to change my major. Turned out that i was so busy with school, friends, etc that i didnt change my major until the middle of spring quarter of freshman year. Just as long as know which courses to take you will be fine. I suggest writing up a personal four-year plan (taking any ap/cc credit you might have into account, or five-years or how many quarters you want to take) and being as specific as you can with the courses major reqs (the immidiate ones that is, you dont have to worry about when exactly you are going to take upper div classes) and fairly flexible with GEs. Update it every quarter as you register for new classes because your plan will change because of scheduling and other reasons.
