-How do we check on financial aid awards?
-How is the chemistry department for undergrads?
-How is LIFE IN GENERAL at Columbia?

Can any chem majors comment?

in response to #2: pretty darn awesome. My roommate was a biochem major (really very similar), and she hung out in Havemeyer (chem building) all the time because she did research there. From what I’ve seen, the professors are extremely accomplished and helpful, and regularly hire undergrads in their labs. The grad students I know in the chem department are flipping fantastic (met them all through my roommate). They’re fun, not too nerdy, and generally quite chill. The department itself is damn good, in terms of the academics, the research and the teaching faculty. Particularly a certain Scott Snyder, who I hear is the new organic chemistry god.

oh, and #3: I miss it. A lot. I sometimes cry myself to sleep at night. Enough said.
