Yes I did for Johns Hopkins' CTY-CAA thingy. I got like.. a 960 or something. It was really bad.

Yeah 7th for the Duke TIP thing, it was really bad (900ish)

Yeah, 7th and 8th.

A 1460 in 7th and a 1690 in 8th.

7th Grade through JHU
530 Math 550 Verbal

Nope .

in 7th for cty

520 math 680 verbal

i was actually quite happy with the math score, since we hadnt learned most of the stuff on it yet

Yes, seventh grade (both old and new SATs, the latter for free).

To the person who asked, you can sign up through the college that sponsors the "talent search" (i.e. Duke for Texas). It's more or less pointless except to get a feel for the test, and colleges don't see your results.

jeez why do you guys take it so early.
well, im in japan and i didnt hear about sats till the school said it required psat in 11th grade. so i took it once in 12th grade without studying (i didnt know u could). no prep at all, just 10 hours of sleep the night before.
verbal:640 writing:650 math710. not bad. and it took so long so i thought once was enough

I took the SAT this year in 8th grade. In 7th grade I did the ACT and I should have waited untill I had taken algebra b/c my math score was horrible :(

I took the SAT in 7th and ACT in 8th

Nope. My school didn't participate in any of the programs. And I'm kind of glad I didn't... it's on my record that I only took the SATs once (although I did take the SSAT and the PSAT...). :)

I will take the SAT for the first time in 11th grade. I hadn't even heard of anyone taking it 7th/8th until now.

Mhm...didn't help me much b/c they changed it to the new format during my sophomore year

That's sick....truly sick as my old history teacher would say.

yes, for cty

Yes, for Duke TIP in 7th grade. I was pleasantly surprised by my score.

noopeyyyyyy

No. I didn't take the SAT I until my junior year. I took my first SAT IIs in 10th grade.

I'm not sure why anyone would take the SATs before 9th or 10th grade--besides to qualify for special programs (or whatever), like some people have mentioned. (Although they've been mostly using the acronyms, so I'm not sure what exactly they're talking about.) Otherwise, it just seems like pushiness and overworrying about getting into the perfect college.

I, for one, had way better things to do than take the SAT in middle school or early high school.

duke's TIP program in 7th--made an above average (for seniors) score--

Duke's TIP in 7th- GrandRecognition.
