<li><p>“Was because” must be “was that.” “The reason is/was because” is always wrong on the SAT.</p></li>

<p>I think “at once happy and angry” is correct gramatically. At once indicates opposing descriptions of something. Again, I’m not completely sure if this is true.</p>
