So, I'm about to take the SAT II (US His) tomorrow.But I'm still clueless about this: Should I omit or guess when wierd and beyond-my-knowledge questions pop up ?
When we omit, we lose no point. And when we guess, we will get 1 point if we answer correctly and lose 0.25 point if the answer is inaccurate. I'm so confused because if I omit, I will stand no chance of getting points but guessing has disadvantages, since say four incorrect guesses cost 1 point. What's the best based on your knowledge and experience ?
Thanks a ton for your inputs ^.^

...bump...=P~

If you seriously have no idea, don't bother guessing, you'll probably get it wrong. But if you are aiming for an 800 have an idea of how many you can skip and still get an 800 (taking into account that you might get some wrong). I did this for the chem satII and skipped one, something about balancing- basically stuff that I always get wrong.

Other than that I guessed even with only some knowledge of the question and I guess I got them right!

BTW I got an 800 on that

Actually I think the curve for USH is pretty good. I took it in May and you could get 7-9 wrong there and still get a 800. Just do your best!

what i remember from the USH test is that the questions are a lot more specific than the AP. probably better to omit unless you're pretty sure.

Rule of thumb for multiple choice:

If you can narrow it down to two possible answers, it's worth a guess.

Otherwise, leave blank.
