What do you think about women in surgery? I was just watching this show, and I was thinking about how time consuming any surgical profession is. I just want to know from the male and female prospective if its really worth it.

ummmm...what's wrong with a woman in surgery?...unless you're implying femalre inferiority...which is nonexistent.....i'm a guy btw....
Yes it's worth it....you get paid more than the average physician...and the profession itself is very fulfilling...especially if you help save lives.....well...unless blood and guts gross you out lol....

but yeah....we don't live in the "old world" where women did all of the housework and men went to work and then laid back afterwards....now...a majority of families have both men and women doing the daily chores, taking care of children, etc....although...women do tend to do 2-3 hours more of household work than men on average....but..the structure of the household is becoming mroe egalitarian every generation....

point being...yes it's worth it

i'm going to be a woman surgeon hahaha sounds funny
but i kinda don't get what you mean by women in surgery..
and i'm not going to do housework.. i hate cleaning my room! im going to get a maid lol

If one (female or male) is passionate about it and has the skill and will to get through the necessary education and training, I am sure it is a very rewarding profession. I see nothing strange about a woman being a surgeon. I personally toss my cookies whenever I see blood...and I have pudgy fingers, so surgery was out for me a long time ago! hehe But I am sure that women can make amazing surgeons.

actually...women genetically have quicker, smaller, more stable fingers than men!...so if anything...you'd think a woman would be a better surgeon

I have no problem seeing blood, but surgeons need like so much school that I could never do it.

No...i don't think i posed the question right. What I meant was that on the program that I watched, there were some women who regretted not being able to have children or what not. I just didn't want to be the kind of person that would think what if....i don't know. I really don't see....let me think about how i can rephrase this.

Some women probably choose not to go into surgery because it is a very demanding job and would result in less time spent with their family. Other women would love the demands of the job. It's all up to the woman, what type of person she is, and how she wants to spend her life. Do what you feel is right for you.

At first, I worried about family issues - like, what if i end up having my first baby at 35?
Then i just decided that I'll worry about that when the time comes.
hahaha my parents thinks that i am born to be a surgeon or something with finger skills because I have long, thin, strong fingers.
