I've had 2 counselors tell me very seperate stories regarding my situation when prompted, with one telling me that colleges look for ethnic diversity and the other only racial. (in my case, I am caucasion, born in Russia, lived there for early childhood, travel there during summers, fluent, and 100% russian in all. how would the application process and my chances (etc.) be affected by this?).</p>
<p>Not much in your case. Racial is the main thing. They might find you slightly more interesting than the average white American.</p>
<p>Yeah, they are probably more concerned with racial diversity. I believe it would only make a difference if you were an international student from Russia which would served to add more geographic diversity to the school.</p>
