Racism in college

Thank you everyone! There are so many great responses. Also, could someone explain Jesuit to me, I am a non-denominational Christian, but I am open to other denominations.

The Jesuits are a Roman Catholic order dedicated to education. There around 30 Jesuit colleges throughout the US. While there is a high percentage of Catholics at these schools (it varies from school to school) they welcome people of all backgrounds and faiths. The Jesuit schools all have a similar core curriculum which include a wide range of liberal arts classes including philosophy and theology. I’m not sure if these schools will meet your needs, but you can get more information at: [Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities](http://www.ajcunet.edu/)
[The Mission of AJCU](http://www.ajcunet.edu/The-Mission-of-AJCU)

While Trinity is a very open and accepting place, I’ll agree with those who say it can’t be considered a Christian school.

There is no requirement to take any religion/theology course at all, nor attend any religious service of any kind.

Bunny, I’m a former VP of a Christian college and an alumnus of a university that was Baptist at the time that I attended it. My experience in Christian higher education convinced me that religion and higher education don’t mix - in fact, they’re antithetical to one another - and that a strong religious affiliation will ultimately put a school in conflict with legitimate educational values (I’ll exempt Jesuit institutions on this argument). This thread isn’t the place for such a discussion but if you’d like to chat about it, feel free to PM me.

Also, there is a “Christian College” forum.
