Is there really a lot of racism at non HBCU

Id rather not go to a hbcu because its far away and I've always lived with diversity&love it but my area has all races equally depending on what time of the day your out and what stores you're at..I've had a lot of racial profiling outside of school(car doors being locked, dirty looks,coughing..ect)but not really in\at school except a couple of teachers I've only been mostly bullied by black girls and like 1 guy...I want to go to college and I wana have a great time but I'm worried about racism and I don't wana run from it by going to a hbcu b\c I'll have to face it eventually since that's the real world..I live in california so I was going to go to a local UC I live in the bay and Berkeley is closest but I want a new expierence so maybe riverside or something in southern cal? Alothough I've had more racial profiling there..So would a UC be as equal racist as the real world I've expierenced or worse since people will be around my age group? I don't want to live on a campus where I feel unwelcomed I already experienced that in band class for like 5 yrs until I discontinued it this school yr..I get along with asians more than whites but I've heard colleges that's aren't hbcu are mostly asian or white but I still hate being the only black or only black girl in class(usually honors or ap)..I'm getting use to it but I don't think id like to have college life like that even though I've gotten picked on by mostly black girls for various reasons.

You may want to inquire about minority student groups on campus in schools you’re interested in. You may also want to ask students about how the race-relations atmosphere is on campus.

There are not a lot of black people percentage-wise in California overall, and a smaller percentage at UC due to what you observed regarding your honors and AP courses.

Not all non-HBCU have very low percentages of black people, although this is mainly dependent on the location. For example, undergraduates at University of Alabama, Birmingham are about 26% black, and undergraduates at Mississippi State University are about 22% black.

Most college students are aggressively anti-racist, so you should be fine.

Thanks…I hope so
