radio stations..help me out

I got an ipod nano 5g for christmas, and it's the first time I've had a portable radio that I actually plan on carrying around.

I'm wondering what some of the popular music / news radio stations are. I usually surf the internet and listen to youtube, so I'm really unfamiliar with radio stations.

Can you guys list your top music and news stations? Thanks :)

Geez… the concept of the radio means that they have a broadcast range of only a few miles. Few dozen at best. The radio isn’t the internet you know. And thus, we won’t be able to tell you what top music stations are in your area.

However. Google is always your best friend.

Google “radio stations” and enter your zip code. Easy peasy…

If you live in the Bay Area then I can give you some suggestions.

The undisputed best radio stations in the SoCal/LA area are 97.1 (AMP radio), 102.7 (KIIS FM), and 106.7 (KROQ).

Oh sorry. Forgot to list my area. Yeah, I’m SoCal (Bay Area).

94.9- hip-hop/rap music
96.5- older songs
101.3- a mix of all genres
102.1- classical

I always listen to (in order of preference):
106.5
101.3
97.3
99.7

Popular radio stations that I don’t listen to:
94.9 - rap
95.7 - country

What? 97.1 and 102.7 play the same crap every hour, and 106.7 is only good in the morning, but 101.1 has the better morning show so it doesn’t matter. Best stations in SoCal are 93.5 (old school rap), 95.5 (mostly classic rock, some new stuff), 100.3 (rock from all time periods), 101.1 (oldies, awesome morning show with Gary Brien)

What…? 10char

Haha, maybe he doesn’t want to state which one.

People still listen to the radio? This is like a foreign concept to me. My mind is mystified.
I don’t even know how to work the radio on my not-iPod-because-Apple-sucks player.

NPR is what my friends listen to. :]

Southern California and the Bay Area are mutually exclusive. You can’t be in both at the same time.

Lol woops…I didn’t mean the San Francisco Bay Area.

Just socal then. And thanks for the stations everyone.

^Plattsburg, I used to be like you…until I got my ipod. I get most of my news from the internet and newspapers, but it’s hard to find new music.

Then ignore my recommendations and Wart’s as well. :[
