yes it is possible~~~
to reassure you,
i got 1430 SAT,1 yr later, i got 2070~~
of course ,motivation plays a big role.. if ur daughter is motivated and determined enough, she'll get 2000+ for sure.
zfox001 and i are very similar. haha.

The only thing holding you back from raising your score by hundreds of points is yourself. If you are less motivated/dedicated, then take an SAT class that will force you to spend a few hours every week preparing for the SAT. If you are motivated and know that you will stick with a program you have set for yourself, then studying by yourself may be the best solution. Just set aside a specific time of day/time frame in which do SAT practice problems/review vocab/etc, STICK TO IT, and your score will improve. I am a testament to this: I took an SAT class, which lasted for a month this fall, then studied 30 minutes every day up until the last week before the SAT, where I did at least half a full-length SAT every other day...

Sophomore PSAT: 184
Junior PSAT: 194
Junior SAT: 2230 (740 CR, 690 M, 800 W - 12 essay)

I don't think students should worry about SAT's in their freshmen and sophmore years. I started studying about a month before my junior SAT and got a 1980. I started a month and half before the october test and got a 2260. Also, studying for a couple hours everyday saturday for like a month and a half is fine. Don't go crazy studying everyday or everyother day, its completely unnecessary.

You guys have been wonderful...thank you!
