all i can say is wow. prestige whores

who the **** cares if people confuse penn with penn st? I sure don't. They can confuse it all they want... I'm applying to Penn for what I'll learn there... I have absolutely no worries in my abilities to get a job or something of that sort and then do well no matter what. Hell, I'm sure all of you could go to your local state schools, and if you have the drive to do well, you will.

Basically: if you are going to be successful, you will be no matter where you go to college... successfull people know how to thrive in any environment... its just survival of the fittest

You're making too many assumptions. If you look at the very first post, you'll notice that my complaint does not include anything about prestige. You mentioned that you like Penn for what you'll learn there, which is different from what you'll learn at Penn state. My complaint was just about knowing that Penn and Penn state are two different entities.

you want people to know that penn and penn st are two diff things why? Although you may have not mentioned prestige in the OP, there is a clear dominant impression in my mind after reading the post. I could easily be wrong, but writing is not only what is written, it's also what's implied.

the college experience you obtain from the schools is totally different. I like Penn because it is unique. If someone can't tell the difference between Penn and another school, then it isn't really unique anymore.

IMHO, people who understand and enjoy Penn the most are people who not only don't really CARE that we're Not Penn State, but people who embrace it and run with it.

im with sexyyetibeast, does that t-shirt really need to be there? i get weird looks all the time from my friends when i say Penn. i just calmly explain what i mean. no big deal

how bout we all just get T's that say "I'M IN!" ?? lol, i think it's most important that everyone know how happy we are - who cares if they get the schools mixed up?
