We have found that Zoom for family calls is more effective than multiple people on a FaceTime call. FaceTime seemed to freeze, or not have everyone in the floating grid - pics and voices going in and out etc.
At work we are told to use WebEx - I agree that it is very crisp and clean.
New Question, hope it isn’t buried in one of the Covid threads that I don’t read…
We are doing our first curb-side pickup of an on-line order from Safeway today. Do you tip the person who brings it out? Are they the person who picks the things or just the bagger?
Many stores don’t allow tipping. Mine doesn’t. The curbside attendant likely won’t be the person who actually “picked” your order. For my store, that is done by each department - produce, deli, meat, etc.
I hadn’t though about tipping, because I’m already paying extra for curbside. But then I read on CC about others who were tipping generously. So next time I attempted to tip, but the person who brought out my food waved me off. (I remained in the car.) She indicated that it wasn’t necessary. I think in my area, people are not inclined to tip, so they don’t expect it.
Our university wants us to use WebEx for video calls. I have been on great clear ones and yesterday I had one that was funky - in and out audio and visuals - couldn’t figure out if it was just me/my internet/streaming or what.
I was on a GoToMeeting call on Monday and that was also excellent. Very crisp and clear.
While tips are a nice gesture and many times so fully appreciated in situations where tipping is not encouraged that ^^^^ “thank you” , said really genuinely with a few other words like “I cannot thank you enough - it is such a lifesaver for me to have this option to get the food our family needs” - or whatever goes a long way to essential workers.
Thanks All! My husband was in charge of ordering, I am just the pick up curbside driver. LOL I should have looked on the website myself but didn’t want to take over his job.
Our supermarket site said no tips, but they also set up the curbside pickup before the corona virus. ai left an envelope in the trunk with $5 in it and wrote “TIP” in the envelope. I told him it was there. He said “thank you”. and it was gone when I took my groceries out. These folks are working in. unusual circumstances. They deserve the tip
When I got a time slot for Costco delivery there was a line for a tip, either $ amount or percentage. I opted for dollar amount but then over the next few days I added lots to my cart so I taped cash to the doorbell with a note saying Thanks, Costco. He took it. Prices ar higher than in the store, but my usual Costco run is three times what’s on my list, so I saved a bunch.
I bought a cheap one online and it wasn’t even worth what I paid. The back was described as flexible but was cheap brittle plastic. Brittle tabs over the switches broke quickly.
