Horse doses of vitamin C do nothing except one thing: they might prevent UTI. C is a water-soluble vitamin that the body cannot store. Excess of vitamin C simply gets excreted in urine creating acidic environment in the urinary tract thus possibly making it less friendly to bacterial growth and attachment. Source: my doc. The medical sites sorta confirm the UTI prevention.
I got the chewable calcium with D3 from Costco. Much better than gagging on the calcium pills, my only objection is that I have to remember to chew them at a meal and then get the sticky sugar off my teeth. So far, so good v
We need a new plastic cutting board, max size 16x10 (so it fits in drawer next to knives). Any recommendations? We want it reversible and dishwasher safe. Thanks!
I got a set of 3 plastic cutting boards from Costco years ago, and they are still doing fine.
I also have the 3 from Costco. My big one melted, as it was in the drawer below the gas stove. I did not know it could get so hot there, and the cutting board was on the top of the drawer and part of it melted and stuck to the inside!
Holy cow, that’s scary. I keep our doggie door cover in the drawer right under our gas cooktop. I’ll have to check on the temp in there after I’ve used the cooktop.
We have several of this type

They are thin, so they stack in the drawer well. Go in the dishwasher, reversible. I found most of them at Home Goods or similar discount places for less money.
@HImom I’ve been eyeing this for a few weeks. It’s on clearance now.

It’s slightly bigger than the dimensions you specified but it looks like a nice set if you have any flexibility at all for space. IF you can pick it up curbside from a store near you because their shipping is almost the same as the item cost.
I took so long to decide that it is now sold out in all my local stores for curbside pickup and I don’t want to pay $ for shipping.
Cutco. Yes, my kid is one who got sucked into selling Cutco, LOL. But I love the stuff we got i.e. his demo set.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/what-is-the-bottom-drawer-of-an-oven-really-for/ says that the drawer under the oven may be either a storage drawer or a warming drawer, and to check the oven’s owner’s manual.
We have epicurian cutting boards as well and love them. They’re thin, can go in the dishwasher and I have several with a groove to catch juice, etc. Some have rubber feet. I found mine at Sierra Trading and they were very inexpensive. Unfortunately, they’re not selling them now but here’s a link:
So many lovely options. I bought a set from Amazon that should serve us well—if not I may try some of these lovely suggestions. I believe this is what I bought.
While some drawers are warming drawers, mine is not. I think the drawer was full, and the cutting board was too close to the bottom of the oven. As it was Thanksgiving, the oven was on all day and I guess the board was exposed too long.
When I take pans out while the oven is on, they never feel hot, but I no longer keep the drawer stuffed!!
Has anyone here invested in a Yeti cooler? H and I almost got a 12-can cooler until we realized it was TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS! Sheesh.
We love our Yeti wine glasses and highball glasses, but…
Worth it? Experiences? Comments?
My son owns one, but only because it was free! My husband and I were at a retreat where we receive resort credit that most use for the spa. As I was not able to have a massage due to a skin issue, I had to spend the money somewhere. There was noting that I wanted at the resort shops, so we purchased the Yeti cooler for my son. I think it is the Hopper M30 and is heavier than I would have thought, but has a shoulder strap. While I don’t think that would have purchased one for themselves, they have gotten a good bit of use out of it.
Others I know that own Yeti, love them. I think it is a cult following thing; if you own a Yeti product, you are cool!!
Don’t own one but I’ve used one and they are very effective at keeping things cold. I borrowed a large one for an ice cream social and it kept the ice cream cold and scoopable for several hours at the event, something I would not trust to an average cooler. Given the sizes, they hold less than you’d think because the walls are thicker than average on the hard sided ones.
If anyone knows a brand that works as well at a fraction of the price, I’d love to know.

I honestly don’t think Yeti is worth the price. Plus they’re heavy and bulky for the amount they hold. Friend has a Yeti and it’s just not that great.
Not stylish and low tech but my absolute favorite cooler (for when you want it to stay really cold for a long time) is the thick walled styrofoam coolers that are used for shipping purposes like the Omaha steak coolers. Those will keep food cold for many days.
We send a lot of Dungeness crab we harvest to out of town family and always use the thick styrofoam coolers that @gouf78 mentioned. You can get them for free by requesting used insulated pharmaceutical containers from a local hospital or clinic (they’re used for refrigerated medicines.)
@sherpa , we question how effective these coolers are and volunteer to receive shipments of Dungeness crab as quality control.
