grades, scores, ecs, recs, essays, interviews… anything else? Can someone knowledgeable please rank these in order by importance? Thanks. I haven’t had a chance to look at one of my teacher recommendations and I feel that it might not have been very personal or good… Could one of the three rec letters I sent in be the difference between acceptance and rejection? Please say no.

Most important factor is going to be grades and rigor of curriculum. If you go to the schools website and do a searach for their common set Data alll of this information is laid out for you.

Sybbie is right. The transcript is the most important part of admission to any top school, as is clearly seen in the institutional data sets provided on some schools' websites. After transcripts (and of all their components), in order, I'd say that the most important factors are test scores, essays/recs, and ECs. However, I don't really know for sure, and neither does anyone on this site. It probably depends from person to person, although we can all probably agree that grades/classes/rank are most important. Your best bet is to get an SAT score 2.5-3 standard deviations from the mean, have a class rank in the top 1-2% (or have a 4.0 in all AP classes), be a nice and studious student, write interesting essays, and get involved in a few activities that interest you.
