I don't know enough about Penn and Dartmouth to rank them.

I thought people might be interested in the rankings by actual students:

A few other schools are added in, so Harvard is 12th. The top two are Dartmouth and Brown.

At Princetonreview, you can also look up rankings (although the new ones aren't out yet -- I had to go to each school specifically to get last year's). You can pick out whatever is important to you and see where the places rank (if they make the top list at all). For example, looking at happiest students, Brown is #3 among all colleges, Princeton is 16th, Yale is 18th, and no other Ivy is ranked.

Here are the average ranks so far based on 122 rankings.

Princeton 3.00
Yale 3.56
Harvard 4.15
Brown 4.93
Penn 4.95
Cornell 4.97
Columbia 5.00
Dartmouth 5.13

I don't think the avg is as important as the number of times in the top 1 or top 3 or some designation like that (which I think someone also totaled up at some point). People shouldn't be applying to all eight and many people who are inclined to like Dartmouth and Cornell would not like Columbia and Penn.

Here is the number of times each Ivy was ranked in the top four based on 122 rankings:

Princeton 94
Yale 85
Harvard 71
Cornell 56
Penn 49
Dartmouth 46
Columbia 45
Brown 44

And Vice Versa to what gellino mentioned ^

So, the students review would rank the ivies:
1. Dartmouth
2. Brown
3. Yale
4. Cornell
5. Penn
6. Princeton
7. Columbia
8. Harvard

My personal ranks:

Harvard - even if they are snobs, Boston is awesome and there are some great departments there in my areas of interest.

Columbia - New York! That pretty much does it.

Cornell - Love the college town atmosphere.

UPenn - Nice, Urban, good oppurtunities.

Yale - Not a perfect location, a good deal of snobbery, and can't double Major.

Dartmouth - New Hampshire. Yuck!

Brown - Academic setup seems awkward, and overall atmosphere is kind of blah. Providence isn't as good a town as people make it seem.

Princeton - Suburban farm town in ick New Jersey? Yeah, I'll pass...plus snobbery and no truly strong departments in my areas of interest.

^Confused, you can double major at Yale. In fact some majors (like International Studies) can only be done as second majors.

Hm, I definitely heard that you can't double major at Yale. But I think it might actually have been that you can't have a minor...that was probably it...
