<p>If I was personally rnaking these by preference or feel of the school, the list would be quite different, but this is how I would rank them according to academics.</p>
<p>Academics:</p>
<p>UNC Chapel Hill
NC State
UNCA
UNCW & App State
UNCG & UNCC
ECU (would be higher for med/nursing)
WCU</p>
<p>The social ranking would be much the same, except ECU would go up, and UNCA and App would go down. UNCC and UNCG are largely commuter schools, and WCU is out in the middle of nowhere.</p>
