Ranking the acc schools

A wonderfully apt description of many threads on CC…including threads that don’t concern them in the slightest. Such as this one.

I might care somewhat about the Big 10 if I were at all interested in football. Or grew up in the Midwest. I’m neither. What are Northwestern and Ohio State doing in a thread about the ACC?

^Nobody talked about Northwestern here. Not sure where you got that from. Perhaps you should read the posts first. The Big 10 was brought in because someone said ACC was second behind Ivy in terms of academics, implying it’s better than all other major conferences, including the Big 10. You expect the Big10 fans would stay silent, especially when the Big 10 is clearly superior in graduate and international rankings (part of what “academics” is about)?

Uh, yeah, pretty much. Well, let me rephrase that - I’d hope for such a thing, as mature individuals should be able to let such minor slights pass. As to whether I’d actually expect it, well…

Someone makes an offhand comment about his opinion, and immediately people swoop in with AWRU, NRC, NAE memberships, etc., because he MUST be proven wrong at all costs. Goodness knows we can’t sleep at night if the proper order between the Big 10 and ACC is not established!

^ I fail to see the issue in posting objective information on an open forum. If someone posted that UMich had better academics than Harvard the same type of wrangling would occur.

The NESCAC is 2nd

This is a battle for 3rd!

Who will win the B1G or ACC?
