Ranking the Ivies by recent PhD production

I know the PhD academic job situation is not good in humanities and social sciences. But they may get good jobs in non-academic situations. The important thing is that their undergraduate preparation was good enough to get them through a PhD program successfully. The undergrad institution is not responsible for the job market.</p>

The file from NSF clearly states that the number is for Cornell “endowed colleges”. It is possible that NSF mislabeled. In the detail, there were 161 PhDs in “agricultural sciences/natural resources” granted for Cornel alumni which seems like a lot if you are excluding Cornell ag school grads. You may be right. There is no way to know for sure without contacting NSF.</p>
