Rankings of Quality in Ph.D. Education

I can only find the 1995 National Research Council Report on Quality in Ph.D. Education at http://www.grad.berkeley.edu/publications/pdf/nrc_rankings_1995.pdf

That's ten years ago! Does anybody have the latest update? What's the link for 2005 or 2004?

The NRC only updates this list ever 10 years. I don't think the 2005 study has been released or people would be quoting it here.

New NRC rankings are slated to be released in 2007 and will include 16 new fields for a total of 57 fields, including communications, American studies, and other innovative programs.

Keep in mind that, accurate though they are, they're rather useless. They're not terribly helpful at the undergrad level, and nobody chooses their grad school based on rankings.

I chose my grad school based on the money -- I picked the one with the highest stipend. :D

Okay, that's not really why I chose it. Or at least that's what I tell everybody.
