Hey guys, I am currently a Freshman and will most likely end up with a 3.4 GPA this year. My teacher said that hour honors geometry class is far more demanding than the others found in the area. I got 1 C and a couple of B's, the rest will be As.I was wondering if such a plan as this would work to get me into these high end schools. I will try to fit in AP Psychology somewhere, I might even self-study it if I have time. Please help me out with what other things I could do to increase my EC's.

Why are you asking this as a freshman? And why have you planned out your schedule for the next three years?

@ckoepp127 because I want to see what I can do to improve my plan >.> I really wanna be someone and I have A LOT of competition in my area… around Ann Arbor, so as you might imagine U of M is quite popular.

Haha I like how you give me the “>.>” as if I’m weird for asking. Relax. Live in the present. You’ve got the majority of your time at high school left and you’re asking to be rated on your chances at admissions on a college message board. There’s clearly something wrong with that picture. We all want to be someone, but we don’t all fixate unhealthily on hypotheticals that are 4 years away from the present.

Not to mention, even if I wanted to seriously rate you, I couldn’t, as you haven’t done enough to even look at. You have precisely one year of actual grades (for freshman year, which doesn’t REALLY matter), haven’t taken any standardized tests, haven’t been at high school long enough to establish relationships with teachers that could give you recommendations, haven’t given any information about application essays (which are two years off anyways), and several of your ECs are things that you may “end up” doing. Come back when you’re a junior and have actually done enough to warrant anyone taking you seriously.

@ckoepp127 you are right, thanks for taking the time to look anyway I will keep this in a lot of consideration.

What you can do is try your best at school and also develop a passion on something and enrich your EC. It is too early for chancing. It is not like in Singapore that one can tell which college you will go by the kindergarten you are attending. You do really to work very hard as GPA 3.4 is very low for these schools although some of them do not count freshmen grades.
